In 1906 COA began serving Milwaukee families – that same year, the very first feature film was produced. In the 110 years since, COA has helped foster thousands and thousands of dreams. Our participants might not have stars on the walk of fame, but their successes help to shape a new, better city every day. Join us on the red carpet to celebrate real rising stars here in Milwaukee and help to support quality, family-centered programming

COA’s 18^th Annual Hollywood Gala will be held at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center on February 28^th. A cocktail reception and the silent auction kick off at 5pm, to be followed at 7 by a gourmet, three-course meal and live presentation of the 88^th Academy Awards hosted by local television personality Mark Baden. During commercial breaks you’ll learn about some of COA’s achievements in 2015, exemplary participants, and have your chance to join the mission to strengthen Milwaukee families!

Even if you can’t make it to the Gala, you can still support COA by joining in online to bid on great silent auction items during the event. Tickets to see the Packers, signed memorabilia from Wisconsin icons, locally-produced artisan crafts and foods, and behind-the-scenes access to Milwaukee attractions are just a few of things that’ll be on offer.

Our Mission

COA Youth & Family Centers helps Milwaukee children, teens, and families reach their greatest potential through a continuum of educational, recreational, and social work programs offered through its urban community centers and rural camp facility. As a multicultural agency, COA values diversity and cooperation, and promotes growth and positive social interaction.

The COA Philosophy

COA Youth & Family Centers’ history is deeply rooted in the American Settlement House movement. The underlying foundation of this movement was that a holistic approach is essential to give children and families the tools to become self-sufficient. And more than a century later, COA continues to provide families with a holistic array of services to give children and families these tools to become stronger, healthier, and more self-sufficient.

Four-Star Organization

For nine consecutive years, COA has received a four-star rating from Charity Navigator, a national evaluator of nonprofit organizations. Only one percent of the nation's charities have received the highest four-star rating for twelve consecutive years.
