Project Description

From April 25th-28th, Riverside University High School’s Robotics Team will travel to Detroit, Michigan to compete in the FIRST Robotics World Championships! Riverside’s 20-member robotics team, the Riverside Robotigers, is based out of COA’s Community Learning Center (CLC) housed inside the school. The team consists of students who attend MPS schools throughout Milwaukee. Even though the Robotigers were ranked the lowest at their regional competition held in Lacrosse back in April, they came out on top and secured a coveted spot at the World Championships.

This year, the team worked together to design a robot that will compete among 1,400 teams comprised of students from over 60 countries. Nearly 7,000 teams around the world try to make it to this competition. COA’s team is one of only a few hundred to win entry! The youth have worked incredibly hard to get this far and they are thrilled to put their robot up against the world’s best.

Clare Dusold, COA’s Riverside CLC Site Coordinator is excited for the team: “I am so proud of this group of teens and all of their time and dedication to this team! They are so deserving of this accomplishment and I wish them the best in the competition! Go Riverside ROBOTIGERS!” COA wishes the team good luck!
