COA is proud to have achieved 100% participation in the past,  and this year we contributed again to this great cause. United Way of Greater Milwaukee is a major funder of programs at COA, and we can’t imagine what our programming would look like without their support. Last Monday, we held our annual United Way Workplace Giving luncheon for staff.

Ms. Debra Fields, a United Way Loaned Executive and staff member at Sojourner Family Peace Center spoke about the importance of giving to United Way, and brought along her colleague, United Way beneficiary, and former COA participant Clyde “Cincere” Dangerfield. As a youth, Mr. Dangerfield and his family turned to COA and Sojourner Family Peace Center as a vital resource. Years later, he attributes his success to the resources he was provided thanks to United Way funds and these organizations. He inspired our staff with his story of perseverance and success.
