STEM Programming Updates

During the late winter and early spring of 2018, COA youth worked with robots! 1-2 graders worked with mouse bots that code for direction and 3+ graders worked with the Ozobot Bit! The Ozobot bit is a tiny line following robot that is pre-programmed to follow color codes.

During late spring 2018, COA youth engaged in the scientific method and prepared for the COA and EYF STEM fair. Youth research various topics and performed a scientific investigation on their chosen project. After experimentation and data analysis, youth created a project display board to show their findings. See the events page for more pictures of the STEM Fair!

Engineering and Chemistry Challenges
From fall 2017 to winter 2018, COA youth will be participating in simple engineering challenges and hands-on chemistry experiments. Youth will be given a challenge where they will have to problem solve and design and make an object to test or compete, adapting the engineering design process. Youth will also experiment with chemical reactions and polymers, such as hydrogels, slime, and baking soda and vinegar!
