Family Center
The Samson Family Center at COA

Come and enjoy special times with your child. Meet new families, make new friends, and share information. Play is the basis for learning and this group provides stimulating "hands on" experiences in art, science, music, and story telling. By learning to make new friends, and through group activities, children develop the social skills they need for school success. Parents and children also have the opportunity to participate in messy play that may be difficult to do at home. We offer activities such as:
- Drop In - which is a special time for parents and children (ages 0-6) to relax and enjoy each others's company. This includes free play, snacks, art projects, story telling and singing. Riverwest Drop-in is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays 9:30am-11:30am with Lunch Brunch (bring your own lunch) on Tuesday and Thursdays 11:30am-1:30pm. Goldin Drop-in is Monday and Wednesday 8:30am-10:30am.
- Parent Support Groups - to share ideas, information, and support for each other.
- Parenting Classes - to learn new strategies in the quest to become a more confident parent.
- Workshops - that cover topics that are fun and informative for families.
- Theme-based Fun Days - with art, music, science, and creative dramatics.
- Seasonal Events and Outdoor Activities - that incorporate aspects of holidays and nature.
- Goldin 50+ Group - provides an opportunity for those in the neighborhood who want to gather for conversation and activities Monday - Friday 7am-10am. Our Goldin 50+ group also provides support for the Family Center potlucks and other Goldin Center Family activities. We encourage you to become a member of the fitness center and then stop in for coffee and company in the Goldin Family Center.
